The Man from Snowy River

"The Man from Snowy River" by A. B. Paterson is a poem first published in 1890. It tells the story of a daring horseback pursuit through the Australian mountain ranges to recapture a prizewinning racehorse's colt living among wild brumbies. When the horses descend a treacherous slope, all riders abandon the chase except one young man, who fearlessly spurs his small horse down the dangerous descent. This thrilling tale of bravery and horsemanship became a defining work of Australian identity during the nation's path toward independence. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
