The Shunned House

Providence where generations of tenants have sickened and died. A narrator and his uncle investigate a house on Benefit Street in Providence where tenants have wasted away for generations, and dig into what lies in the cellar. Written in 1924 and published in Weird Tales in 1937, it's Lovecraft at his most grounded and atmospheric.
